Yes, there actually is an end to Practice Mode. Practice Mode will freeze at level 60. Try it as many times as you like, but it will never get past 60.

To start with fifty lives, highlight “Erase Game” on the main menu, and press B, A, R, R, A, L. Keep in mind you must use the Classic Controller to do this.

As soon as you begin the mine cart mission do not speed up but drop directly off the first jump and you will fall into a barrel which will then shoot you to the near end of the mission.

Hint: Unlocking Characters

Generally, when youre unlocking characters (by playing a “cup” challenge), you can predict the type of character you will unlock. If you play as a “Kong” character (like Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong), you will unlock a like type character, while if you play as a Kremling (like Kritter or Kip), you will unlock a character similar to them.
