Easy height in Step Up event
Contrary to what the CPU will do, you do not need to jump over the bar at all. You just need to reach its height level. To do this, rather than trying to jump over the bar and risk knocking it off, jump using the other two sides of the ramp and just air up next to it. You will know when you have reached the required height when you see your score appear at the top of the screen. All you have to do now is stick the landing.

Get the “Safety First” trophy.
Extra track editor platforms and Station Z
Get the “Cross Training” trophy. To do this easily, participate in an exhibition race under the hard difficulty setting. Set the laps to “3″ and opponents to “0″. It is best to use a Super Cross Track because you will need a lot of jumps. Run the race and do tricks until you hit 5,000 points. You will automatically get first place because you are the only one on the track.

Sal the Alien
Go to Fox Creek, jump through the fence, across the canyon, and into the ghost town. Pull up next to the church and bunny hop into the graveyard (hold Clutch, Rev Motor, Preload suspension, hold Back, release Clutch and Preload when the suspension is loaded to the max). From the grave yard, jump to the lower roof platform covering the doorway to the first shop. Continue jumping from roof to roof until you get to the end. From there, jump to the back of the building’s roofs that you were just on. The last ramp will take you up to a rock land bridge (very difficult to land). Jump from the land bridge down to a ledge leading to an open mine shaft. Follow this passage into the military base and down to Sal’s spaceship. Finally run past the ship to a room where Sal is being held in suspended animation to get the “Find Out The Truth” trophy and unlock Sal the Alien as a playable rider.
Elrod the Viking
Go to the Rock Ridge freestyle track. Go to the left until you notice the chair lift. Head downhill to the lower tower. Look for the stone ramp to the right (while still facing downhill). Get your speed up to about 45 mph, preload, and jump to the tower and stop on top of it. You must now travel up to the higher tower riding on the cables. When you reach the other side, will get the “Lift Tower Challenge” trophy and unlock Elrod the Viking.

Hint: Barry Bonds
Barry Bonds may have been kept out of this game by withdrawing himself from the MLBPA, but his replacement, fantasy player “Jim Dowd”, has all his attributes. Simply go to Roster Management and choose Jim Dowd (hes easy to find: hes the best player on the Giants, and one of the best players in the game). Edit the players name to “Barry Bonds”, his number to 25 and his hand to lefty. Edit his features to appear less like a random white guy and more like the famous slugger.
Hint: Easy MVP Points
When playing a Home Run Showdown or Pitcher Showdown, start the game on the MVP difficulty setting. As soon as the game loads up, pause and change the difficulty to something easier to handle, like Rookie or Pro. Now when you beat the computer youll get the MVP points for winning on the MVP level, four times the original amount.
Hint: More Easy MVP Points
First, check your MVP Rewards Checklist. Many of the tasks require you to beat certain teams at their home fields. Start a game against any of these teams and choose MVP Difficulty for maximum points. As the game begins, pause the game and switch controller ports to be the team that youre supposed to beat. If they are batting, simply swing and miss every pitch, and you will get large amounts of points for a Perfect Game, No Hitter, Shutout, and Complete Game. Thats a couple of thousand points right there. When this team is on the field, just lob fastballs over the heart of the plate, or intentionally walk the batters and serve up Grand Slams. You get tons of points for putting up large offensive numbers. Now the most important part. At the end of the game, it is imperative that you switch the controller port back to the original team that you selected in order to receive credit for the final results. Since you need to beat the home team, they will have the last at-bat. So in the last inning, take control of the home team and do the “Swing and Miss” trick. Then on the final strike, swing as soon as the pitcher releases the ball, then quickly pause the game and switch the controllers again. It will be as if you aquired all of the stats for the visiting team, and you will be rewarded heavily for your performance.
Hint: Simulate to Earn MVP Points
In Dynasty Mode you recieve MVP points periodically for accomplishments. Assemble a team you feel is good enough to simulate to the playoffs (hint: Yankees). Simulate the season up to the second to last game and then save the game. Once you have it saved, simulate the last game and move into the playoffs. Generally, you recieve anywhere between 5000-9000 MVP points for making the playoffs. Save the points onto your profile when prompted, and then exit the Dynasty mode without
saving. Repeat the process and youll notice that every time you simulate into the playoffs youre saving the points and not your progress. Do this about 20-25 times and youll have enough points for all the rewards.
Hint: Ultimate Method of Earning MVP Points
Start a new dynasty with the YANKEES. In the DYNASTY SETTINGS page right after you chose to start a new dynasty and even before you choose which team, choose NO for a fantasty draft, put the difficulty level on MVP, turn injuries off, turn suspensions off, turn errors off, turn the trade deadline OFF, turn CPU initiated trades OFF, turn rained out games OFF, and leave everything else as the default. Also, you need to make sure you have the user profile set as PROF1 or if you have your own profile use that one and set it as that in the dynasty options page.
Once youre on the main page of the dynasty, go to SCHEDULE. Scroll all the way through the calender to the last game of the season, since we are using the Yankees for the dynasty, the last game of the regular season on the calender should be on October 3rd, so scroll to October 3rd and choose “Sim up to and including this day.” It will take a couple minutes to sim through the entire regular season because the baseball schedule is long and it also has to sim through your two minor league teams associated with the franchise. Throughout the sim, various messages will pop up about the allstar game, minor league playoffs, etc. When these messages pop up, just ignore them and choose “Continue Sim.”
Once the sim finishes, go back to the main dynasty page and there will be a couple of boxes that popup saying congratulations youve received 1000 or so MVP points, just click OK and ignore them, because thats not where the bigtime MVP points are. Go to “Advance to next day” and keep pressing continue until youre back at the main dynasty management page and a box pops up saying that the regular season is over.
Right now, save your dynasty and once youre finished saving it go to “Advance To Playoffs”, you MUST make sure you save your dynasty at this point BEFORE you choose to advance to the playoffs. After you click on “advance to playoffs,” a box will pop up saying “Congratulations, you have completed one or more tasks and have been awarded XXXXX MVP points.” The amount of MVP points varies, however you are guaranteed to receive anywhere between at least 15,000 and 20,000 MVP points. Click on OK after that box comes up and press CIRCLE on your PS2 controller which brings up your profile options. When you bring up your profile options go to “Save Profile” and save your profile, it will ask if you want to overwrite previous data and choose YES.
There you go, youve just gotten roughly 20,000 MVP points. Do NOT save your dynasty, the only time you should have ever saved this dynasty was after you finished simming the regular season before you clicked on “advance to playoffs”. At this point, just exit the dynasty and a message will pop up saying “are you sure you want to exit, you will lose all of your MVP points and unsaved changes”, ignore this message and choose YES. You will not lose your MVP points because you have already saved your profile! Youll now be back at the main menu of MVP Baseball 2004. Just go back to game modes, then go to dynasty mode and load the dynasty.
Once you load the dynasty, just click on “Advance to playoffs” and youll receive another 20,000 MVP points. Just save your profile and exit the dynasty, then just load it back up again, click on advnace to playoffs again, save your profile again, and exit. You can do this as much as many times as you want, then just go to “My MVP” on the main menu MVP Baseball 2004 and go into “MVP REWARDS” and unlock EVERYTHING.
Hint: MVP Point Limit
You can only hold 50,000 MVP points at a time. Once you reach that amount, spend them. Otherwise, any points you earn afterwards will not be given to you because youre full.

Defeating the CPU
Use the following trick to defeat the CPU with two to four players under the hard difficulty setting. Go to “Custom Rules” and set the houses to 88 and apartments to 22. Turn the jackpot on and set the Landing On Go bonus to $400.00. Pick Land On Free Parking and set the jackpot to $750.00. Use the classic view, as it is easier to see before choosing whichever board you desire. When you start the game, buy only the properties you can get three of and avoid the railroads and utilities. Do not bid top high on the properties that you cannot get much money for. Never bid more money than you have, as you do not want to mortgage properties. Try to get a set, even if it means trading with the CPU or offering them money. Sometimes you will have to offer them both. Once you get a set of two or three, put houses on the cheapest house first, unless you have Boardwalk and Park Place, so you can save money and eventually put up hotels on all your properties. If you have many houses or hotels and get in jail, try to stay in there as long as you can and collect your money. You can also stay in jail if the CPU has many houses or hotels to remain on the safe side. Try to have at least $100 to $200 or more to stay safe. Even if you have to wait to pass Go or land on Free Parking, once you start getting sets and hotels on those properties, try to get sets that are next to each other, or on an entire side of the board.
Properties
Try and get all three orange properties and Boardwalk and Park Place. The orange properties are the most hit, and Boardwalk and Park Place are the most expensive when hit.
Various Hints
Own houses instead of hotels. There are only thirty two houses. If you own two different color sets and build houses, you will use twenty four houses just with them.
Late in the game, you will want to go to jail. You can just sit there and bank in the cash. Early in the game, avoid jail to buy your properties.
Own all the railroads. Try to get them at a low price, but if you have to buy one from someone, spend as much as you need; it will pay off in the end.
Try to own the entire side between Jail and Free Parking. There are two cards that tell you to land on St. James Place and New York Ave. Also, they are cheap to buy, cheap to build, but have a devastating payoff with hotels.
Boardwalk and Park Place are highly overrated. Forget about them.
Waterworks and Electric Company do not bring in money.
Try to own at least one of every color. That way, more deals will be with you.
If the CPU owns two of the three properties of a color, and there is an auction for the last, raise the stakes high. The CPU will want it.
If you are in an auction, always go $1 higher than the highest bidder.
