To do this trick, make sure you have an Asscessory on you. Select which dog you want to walk with. While planning the route for the dog, go through as many[?] blocks as possible. Once you have done that, make your way to the park, then back to your house. When your dog starts the walk, when it gets to the park change the accessory its wearing into something else. After the game finishes saving, turn off your Nintendo DS. When you reboot you will notice that you have obtained all the items you did in the walk, and you can walk again with the same dog without the wait. Do this for present abuse!

While you can purchase new toys for your pup to play with, you can actually get some goodies for free if you know where to look. When you take your Nintendog on a walk, outline a path that goes by the blue “?” boxes marked on the map. Your puppy is likely to run off screen at those points and come back with a present for you! Your puppy will also randomly run to get presents for you if you leave the game on the “Home” screen for long. If left unattended, your Nintendog will leave the apartment and stay off screen. Simply tap on the center button (the circular one) to whistle and call back your pup who should be carrying a new present.

Sometimes when youre on a walk, youll notice a present go across the screen at seemingly random times, and theres a chance you wont get it because you werent paying attention. To prevent this, simply watch the map on the upper screen.Whenever your dog stops moving on the map, it will either stop to go to the bathroom, or sniff at a spot it previously went to the bathroom at. However, sometimes the dog will not stop on the lower screen, which means that something that isnt marked on the map is about to appear. It will either be some garbage, or an unmarked ?-Box is about to appear.Basically, if the dog stops moving on the map, but is still moving on the touch-screen, get ready to tug at the dogs leash so that you can pick it up.
Know if the ? box is a present or another dog right before you get it

To do this trick, make sure you have an Asscessory on you. Select which dog you want to walk with. While planning the route for the dog, go through as many[?] blocks as possible. Once you have done that, make your way to the park, then back to your house. When your dog starts the walk, when it gets to the park change the accessory its wearing into something else. After the game finishes saving, turn off your Nintendo DS. When you reboot you will notice that you have obtained all the items you did in the walk, and you can walk again with the same dog without the wait. Do this for present abuse!
Dog or present?

When walking your dog, if he/she comes upon a ? mark, he/she will bark once, or twice. Most of the time, one bark means a present, two barks means another dog.
Easy way to find hidden presents

When going on a walk, watch the top screen. When the dog icon stops moving, there is a hidden present coming up shortly. Be cautious, however, as this is also true when garbage is coming up, or your pup simply stops by itself.
Get unlockable breeds easier.

Do Bark Mode with a dog in a breed that you dont have.Example: Do Bark Mode with a Shih Tzu and after you do Bark Mode with that dog, you will be able to buy the Shih Tzu breed at the kennel.NOTE: This only works the first time with each different version of the game. So you can do this trick one time with Labrador & Friends, Dachshund & Friends, and any other version of Nintendogs.
Linking:

When linking copies of Nintendogs to unlock new breeds, keep in mind two things. You can only link with another Nintendo DS system once (and unlock a new breed). The breed unlocked corresponds with your partners current pet, and it must be a breed that you do not have in order for it to be unlocked.
RC helicopter:

Go on a walk and you may find an RC helicopter as one of the question marks. Hold A to take off, the D-Pad to maneuver, and L to change the camera view. Note: They can be sold for $200.
Agility training:

Disc contest:

Get a Boxer if you want speed. Get a German Shepherd if you want it to jump high.

Longer walks:

Mark out the path on your map, ending it at the house. If your last few steps ends at the house, wait 25 minutes, then your dog can go slighter further on the next walk. Note: Make sure to water your dog after each walk.
Different colored Dogs:

While at the pound, pick a breed. You will have three choices for the dogs coloring *light, medium, and dark). If you do not see the color you like, tap “Back”, then tap on the breed again until the color and/or gender that you want with the dog appears. It may take some time to actually get what you want.
Hand stand:

Teach your dog to lie down and beg. While lying down, tell it to beg and your dog should do a handstand.
Flip from back:

Teach your dog roll over and jump. Tell it to roll over then quickly have it jump. It should flip forward onto its legs, with something that resembles a Kung Fu-style move.
Getting money:

Go on a lot of walks, getting as many question marks as you can along the way. Then, go to the second hand store and sell all the items you do not want or your dog(s) do not like. Some items are less then a dollar, but the amount adds up if you keep doing this.

When deciding your route to take your dog for a walk, you possibly wont like the amount of ? mark boxes laid out. Well, hit the back arrow, and go into walk again. Itll be a layout of the map!

Increase Your Route

Eat A Light Bulb

Tap the lightbulb icon when it appears. Say the dogs name, then a flashing lightbulb will appear. Drag it to the dogs mouth and he will eat it!

Trainer Points

Get trainer points faster by going to the screen that you brush your dog in and but the brush on you dog. You get 1 point every 1 minute! If you leave it on over night then you should turn off the music, so you dont waste the battery and plug it into the charger!
Washroom Stops

When you are out on a walk and you see blue dots, those are washroom stops for your dogs. The smaller one is poo and the bigger one is pee. So dont skip them!
Meanest Dog

When you are on a walk, and you go to a question mark, the meanest dog is Eclair, so get out of there as soon as you can and beware of Coby too! Charlie, and Buster and Logan(when you see him), are nice, and the other dogs are in between. Make sure your dogs is being nice to the other dogs and maybe they will all be nice to you!

Hint: Free Gifts and Toys
While you can purchase new toys for your pup to play with, you can actually get some goodies for free if you know where to look. When you take your Nintendog on a walk, outline a path that goes by the blue “?” boxes marked on the map. Your puppy is likely to run off screen at those points and come back with a present for you!

Your puppy will also randomly run to get presents for you if you leave the game on the “Home” screen for long. If left unattended, your Nintendog will leave the apartment and stay off screen. Simply tap on the center button (the circular one) to whistle and call back your pup who should be carrying a new present.

Hint: Gift Locator
To find out if garbage or a present is approaching during one of your walks, look at the top screen. There should be the little dog symbol on the path that you drew. If that dog symbol stops and your dog is still walking, this indicates that either garbage or a present is coming up on the floor. If it is a present, tug your dog to a stop and your dog will notice it. It will pick it up and bring it over to you. It is easier to do this when your dog is running.

Hint: Beat The System
Prior to attending a contest, save the game. While attempting the trial, you may opt to turn off the Nintendo DS and reload your save (before the contest) to retry without docking your daily contest limit.

Hint: Easy Trainer Points
Navigate to the screen where you wash your puppy. Instead of actually brushing the puppy, leave the brush over your puppy (in the center of your dog). For each real-time minute the brush stays there sits there, you should gain one Trainer Point.

Hint: Walk Till You Drop
Before making the last stop in the park, change your dogs collar to auto-save your game. Turn off the DS and cold boot the game. This will enable you to save any items you found during the walk and restarts your walk at the same time, allowing you to farm the park for items.

Hint - Basic Tricks
Sneeze:
While sitting tap your dogs nose. it should sneeze. This can be taught as a trick.

Backflip:
Tell your dog to sit. Then, tell your dog to jump. it should do a backflip. This can be taught.

Speak:
buy a keyboard (at 5000 trainer points) tap the little trumpet symbol. Now tap the camera symbol until it reaches the right dog. hold the lowest note (the left side) your dog should bark (keep holding) then the lightbulb will appear. let go of the note and teach the trick.

Wave:
Tell your dog to sit. now grab his ear and move it around the dog should bring its paw up then tap the lightbulb and teach it the trick. Stand: tell your dog to beg. now take his chest and slide up. he should stand up. tap the bulb and teach the trick.

Hints - General Errata
Feed the dog the light bulb that appears over your dogs head, it will make it learn the trick quicker. If you feed a bone to dog it gives trainer points!
Throw a toy. No matter if the dog catches it or not rub him/her on the head. Any time you pet your dog and sparkles appear you get trainer points. Do the same when the dog does a trick correctly.
Whistle and call its name, instead of pressing the round button to call your dog.
walks give you 100 trainer pts. On the end of your walk go to a park. Put on new collar. It will save any items found. You can go on a walk again!
Go to contests and place in the top 3.
Visit friends in bark mode
Let it play with other dogs you own
Give it a bath then brush it
Play it music it likes
Before you go into a contest save. Then if you do poorly in a contest you can shut it off BEFORE the contest is over and you can restart it.
Buy treats from the discount store and give them to the dog when its good, does a trick, does good in a contest, finds good presents for you, and when it doesnt get into fights with other dogs.
